Join the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at McBride Orthopedic Hospital and help drive safer, higher-quality care for future patients and families. As a member, you can ensure patients and family members have a voice that influences how we enhance quality, patient safety, and patient experience at McBride Orthopedic Hospital.
Why Join the Patient and Family Advisory Council?
Your experiences can directly influence how care is delivered. PFAC participation allows you to:
- Improve patient safety.
- Share expertise to make positive changes.
- Connect with like-minded people who have a commitment to making positive change.
Who Should Apply?
We invite:
- Former or current patients within the past two years
- Family members or caregivers of patients within the past two years
To qualify, applicants must have first-hand experience receiving or supporting care at McBride Orthopedic Hospital within the past two years.
What Makes a Great PFAC Member?
You may be a good fit if you:
- Work effectively with other council members, as well as McBride Orthopedic Hospital staff, patients and families to ensure a patient and family centered care experience.
- Provide constructive feedback from a patient and family perspective.
- Respectfully listen to diverse opinions.
- Can commit to quarterly meetings
How the PFAC Works
- Quarterly meetings (in-person)
- Volunteer role – no medical background required
Apply to Join the Council
- Complete an application and screening
- Background check and vaccination records will be required
- PFAC orientation to McBride Orthopedic Hospital
While the Council serves as a forum for members to make suggestions and create solutions, it is not a venue for grievances or specific patient- or physician-related complaints. When issues in these areas arise as concerns, one of the McBride Orthopedic Hospital staff members on the Council will assist the member in finding the appropriate venue to address the issue. All grievances and complaints will be attended to using processes in place at McBride Orthopedic Hospital.
