About Dr. Fong
Dr. Winston Fong views communication as a critical tool in the physician-patient relationship. He values the importance of transparent discussion and a comprehensive review of expectations when working with patients. Dr. Fong develops individualized treatment plans, tailored to fit the needs of his patients. His goal is to reduce pain, restore function and provide a higher quality of life. Dr. Fong specializes in traditional and minimally invasive spine surgery. He grew up in a family of physicians in Oklahoma City with a deep respect for the medical profession and its impact on the community. Dr. Fong is a proud father of three. He loves spending time with his children and working out to maintain fitness.

Dr Fong has done 2 fusions and just discussed a possible 3rd fusion. Wouldn’t let any other Doctor perform the procedure on my back. Very easy to discuss other options and help in your decision.

Waited sometime for my review. I visited Dr. Fong July 1st 2024 for my first consultation after 3 failed injections with a different provider suffering from a ruptured L5,S1 disc with severe sciatica. Dr. Fong recommended a microdiscectomy which was the most minimally invasive option. 2 Other providers offered me a fusion. I gave him the green light that day he spoke to his staff got all my pre-op done that day and scheduled for surgery July 18th 2024. All went well recovery took longer than expected 4 months until I had Zero pain. Today is March 20,2025 and to this day I am forever thankful for Dr. Fong and Team. Dr. Fong was knowledgeable, professional and got the job done with the least invasive option and wasn't in it for a money grab offering fusion like 2 other providers. Love Dr Winston Fong and his Staff. Dr Fong did an excellent job back in 2018 on my lower back. Had a MRI and CT scan for other things and the scans noticed a bulging disc and synovial cyst possible might need to check out so I did no cyst and bulging disc getting similar to what I had in 2018 but I’m not having enough pain plus thinks PT or home exercises will be all I need for now. Dr Fong has been treating me for several years. After each of the three surgeries I had. I got a bit better. The last surgery provided the best results as I can do things now that I haven’t been able to do in years. Dr Fong is an outstanding surgeon who specializes in repairing a person spine. He is a professional and caring individual from the time he comes in contact with you until you are released. I have had two surgeries in the lower spinal area that he performed and both have turned out well. Went in for low back pain that has been going on for the past twenty years. I really thought I couldn’t be helped. First visit I saw PA Kevin Mason he listened to my complaints and did ex rays . He told me he thought Dr Fong could help me and had me scheduled for a MRI. I left with hope and I think you Kevin for that. When I went to see Dr Fong he read the MRI and explained everything to so I could understand. He had a plan to do a surgery that he thought would help greatly with my pain. The quickness, the professionalism & compassion of Dr. Fong was truly appreciated and was really unexpected, and I work in the medical field! Everyone I came into contact with were the same way! My spine was 30 percent off. I walked with a very curved back and much pain. After other steps did not work Dr. Fong did double spine surgery on me July 10th and 12th. Now the pain is gone. Also all discomfort from surgery has healed. Went to see Dr Fong today for my last visit. He said I had graduated out of his care and it would probably be about a year before my body is 100 percent. Dr. Winston Fong is a superior healthcare professional. As a surgeon, his skills are unmatched. I received a spinal fusion from Dr. Fong of the L4-L5 vertebrae. I have been in excruciating pain since 2015. I was unable to turn my head to the right side. I have gone for one treatment after another, gone to 2 neurosurgeons and still functioned only with pain medication that I had built a resistance to. Finally after seeing a new pain management doctor I was referred to Dr. Fong. It took one appointment for him to tell me the decision was mine. My neck would not get better without surgery. I had the surgery in May and had 3 fusions. Today I had my final follow up and was told the surgery was a success. Just to start with, I feel Dr. Fong is an amazing back surgeon. My late husband had a different doctor and his negative experience with a failed back surgery caused me to be terrified of back surgery. When my back became so painful I knew I was going to have to face a back surgery. I had my first appointment during which Dr. Fong displayed such confidance in my upcoming surgery that it was difficult to not trust in him. He had a level of confidance that made me believe in his ability even with all the negative stories I had heard about back surgeries plus my late husbands experience. There was just something about Dr. Fong's presentation of my surgery that made me overcome my fears and agree to my surgery. Thank God for Dr. Fong. When I woke up from surgery no longer did I have the excrutiating neuropathy and sciatic nerve pain and now one year later I have not had one minute of neuropathy or sciatic nerve pain in my legs that I had been experiencing prior to surgery. My lower vertebrate in my back was fused during surgery. Six months later it started coming apart. Dr. Fong did a minor revision-put some bone graft in that fusion where it had started separating. My back has no issues any longer. I am not limited to what I can do. I am a little stiff but if I do my back exercises daily I am able to move-bend over and touch my toes and I have no limitations from my doctor. Dr. Fong is an exceptional back surgeon. I love his confidance and I would not hesitate to recommend my family and friends to him. If I have any further back issues down the road-he will be the doctor who I will trust with my back. I just needed about 5 more minutes with visit. Before I knew it, it was “I’d like to see you in 4 months.” Otherwise, I would’ve given a 5 star. My follow up injections were scheduled inconsistently earlier than previous injections so had to call back to make sure it was going to be ok. Oy vey. (Edit) After calling back I was informed that these injections are scheduled anytime between 2.5 weeks to 3 months so everything is in order and I’m looking forward to relief soon. Had my 6 month check up today (11/2) and feeling great. Fusion looks good. Bone growth is evident. And most importantly, no more pain. Dr.Winston Fong is an ALLSTAR SURGEON AND HUMAN BEING!! I was injured on the job while drive a semi and could barely walk let alone stand. I had previous back surgery to the same area and had rods and screws in my lower back from that. That was the worst experience of my life because I had developed a very bad infection and was rushed back into surgery. I had to lay in the bed with my spine exposed and be cleaned and packed everyday for 4 days. They then took me back to surgery for the 3rd time to clean and suture me back up. I flat lined a total of 3 times in as many weeks from this experience. So needless to say that I was very concerned and maybe even a little afraid of having this done again! I kept my appointment with Dr.Fong and as soon as I met this man and he started talking to me, all hesitation and fear that I had completely went away! He is a very intelligent and humble man that has a way of making you completly comfortable and content with your current situation! Most doctors that I've ever met, with a few exceptions, have acted as if they were above me or better than me and they act like I'm putting them out or wasting their time because I had to make an appointment with them. Dr.Fong never once acted in any of these ways toward me at all! He talked to me right up until time to go under and was there to tell me how everything went when I awakened in recovery. I was up and walking the very same night after my surgery! That's incredible considering he had to remove the old hardware from the previous surgery and then install new hardware as well as a fusion from L-2 down to my tailbone.. So that's alot of work y'all and I GOT UP THAT NIGHT AND WALKED THE HALLWAY ALL THE WAY AROUND THE NURSES STATION!! That should tell you all you need to know about this fine gentleman and THE BEST DOCTOR IN OKLAHOMA OR ANYWHERE AS FAR AS THIS GUY IS CONCERNED!!!! It has been a year since I fell off a 20 foot scaffold and broke my neck into 2 places. I couldn't feel my arms or legs and couldn't barely move them. I went to the ER and he met me there. I was very scared about being permanently paralyzed. He looked me straight in the eyes and said, "We're not going to let that happen to you."
