About Dr. McArthur

Dr. Robert McArthur believes one of the greatest challenges for rheumatology patients is learning to deal with a diagnosis that is no fault of their own. In most cases, their diagnosis is a result of a genetic trait. Dr. McArthur is empathetic and works to help patients come to grips with changes in their life. He believes trust must be established with his patients when treating a chronic health problem to help identify the best solution for individual and unique symptoms. Dr. McArthur recognizes a provision of hope is important to his patients and this often comes in the form of different medical approaches and new medications available for treatment. His ultimate goal is to return patients to as normal a life as possible. Dr. McArthur was raised in Ardmore and considered a career in medicine during his high school years due to interest in various science courses. Ardmore is home to the Noble Foundation and served as a catalyst in high school to participate in research projects focused on immunology and hematology, which deepened his desire to work with and care for patients who required long term care. His father also played an important role in the decision process – he was a rheumatologist, too. Dr. McArthur is a dedicated family man, talented musician and excellent skier.
